BLOG #6: PODCASTING
This was my first time doing a podcast for Limerick Voice. I must admit I was quite nervous about doing the podcast. I generally much rather print over any form of broadcast journalism. I consider myself a better writer than a speaker but I knew when starting the Limerick Voice module that I wanted to try everything so when I decided to interview Kate Bourke, I thought she would make a great guest for the podcast.
Kate is a fourth year fashion student in LSAD who recently started a loungewear clothing brand called KTB Studio.
I’ve been involved in a few podcasts before so I already had a good idea of how to go about it. I downloaded the Anchor app which is so easy to use and set up the podcast call with Kate by sending her a link. She was able to join and we could talk through our phones with everything being recorded which is so handy! Prior to recording the podcast I prepared a few questions to ask Kate and a guide for the intro and outro. However, I found as the interview went on and I felt more comfortable, more questions kept coming to me and so I asked them as they naturally came.
After the podcast I recorded the official intro and outro in the voice recording app on my phone and sent them to Katy along with the actual podcast. I actually quite enjoyed doing the podcast but it hasn’t changed my mind on broadcast- I still rather print!
