BLOG #7: MISSED DEADLINES, MISSED OPPORTUNITIES

Unfortunately, I had to learn the hard way about the importance of reading the brief and checking emails. For some reason, I thought the deadline for stories for The Limerick Voice was December 16th when in reality it was December 14th. I had decided to do a Q&A style story with Friday’s for Future leader, Saoirse Exton on her involvement in Climate Action and her recent Outstanding Achievement Award. I had the questions sent for a couple of days but I didn’t want to be pestering her for a response so I left it a while before asking her had she time to answer them. It was only a day later, I was having lunch with Lisa and a few others and mentioned needing to send off my last story, when one of them said, “wasn’t the dealing yesterday?”. I had totally misread the brief!

It’s a shame too because it was an interesting piece but I’m thinking I could perhaps use it next semester and adapt it a little to fit the times.
